The AAMI working with the FDA has posted draft Emergency Use Resuscitator System Design Guidance. More complete guidance is imminent.
As we test and develop, we are making updates as follows:
- We have updated our List of Alarms, in consultation with clinicians, that have being integrated into our prototypes.
- We are recommending using an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) with a runtime up to 30 minutes. This should natively incorporate an alarm in the case of power loss.
- We have investigated and do NOT recommend stepper motors. They are very hard to control when loading changes.
